About the project: “Zorevyr: Through the Universe” is a charitable artbook dedicated to personifications of cosmic objects, that is, their depiction as living beings. The publication is non-commercial and was produced with the support of the MAL’OPUS publishing house. The illustrations for the project were created by a community of Ukrainian artists, and the scientific and informational content was provided by the CLEAR SKIES FOUNDATION team.

Idea of involving our team: The idea came from the project organizers. They are long-time subscribers to our channel, so when the time came to create in the realm of the Universe, they knew exactly whom to approach for reliable information. The task was to write descriptions of dozens of astronomical objects. In search of a scientific and competent perspective on celestial matters, they decided to turn to the research department of the CSF team.

Workflow: We were asked to prepare descriptions for about a hundred astronomical objects, including the Solar System, stars, exoplanets, nebulae, galaxies, and other celestial bodies. The text part of each description was limited to seven lines, with most of the space reserved for illustrations — after all, the publication is an art book.

Here is how one of the team members describes the process of working on the informational content for each object: “Selecting the material was actually very easy: first, I would find an article about the required object on the English-language Wikipedia; at the end of it, there are always sources, and I used those to gather information. I would start by reading and analyzing them, then choose the most interesting points and assemble them into a short description.”

The workflow on the project was organized and well-coordinated. The team gained valuable experience working with popular science literature. “Surprisingly, there were no particular difficulties and no major screw-ups either. We completed our part of the work quite quickly,” sums up the CSF director.

Charitable goal: 80% of the profits from the sales of the art book “Zorevyr: Through the Universe” will be donated to the “Come Back Alive” foundation.

Current status: the art book is currently being typeset and prepared for printing. It is already available for pre-order.

Summary: The project “Zorevyr: Through the Universe” turned out to be remarkably successful. Together, we have taken another step toward popularizing science among Ukrainians. Now, anyone can “discover new worlds” — all it takes is to open this art publication about the Universe.

We are sincerely grateful to the organizers of the “Zorevyr: Through the Universe” project for the opportunity and fruitful cooperation. The CSF team is always open to new endeavours and ready to support creative initiatives!
