About us

Astronomy - is a science in which anyone patient and inquisitive enough can make discoveries, as its field of research — the Universe itself — is boundless. It is a field of knowledge that, while it is very complex and intersects with almost all branches of science, also includes types of research that schoolchildren can easily undertake. It is one of the oldest sciences in human history, and at the same time, more research has been conducted in the last 25 years than in all previous millennia combined.

Astronomy - is a topic that deserves to become socially significant. And it is a science where Ukraine can truly thrive. And we, the CSF, will contribute to this. We are a team of initiative, talented and enthusiastic volunteers – individuals from different professions and interests. This is what makes us unique and unites us around a common goal that is important to each of us – to improve Ukrainian astronomy in the field of education and science.

If anyone believes our goal is impossible, we demonstrate the contrary every day: we have already implemented and continue to implement various projects – both large and small – and we continue to move forward, towards new achievements and discoveries!

The Department of Science

The Department of Science

It consists of three units: scientific, analytical and archival.

The Scientific Unit

It conducts its own scientific research, trains and assists students in carrying out scientific projects, develops software for various scientific purposes and organises and hosts scientific conferences.

The Analytical Unit

It conducts analytical research on a wide range of topics (from highly specialised to general), intending to optimise our activities, accumulate experience, as well as identify the roots of problems and create a plan to address them.

The Archival Unit

It focuses on preserving the works of Ukrainian astronomers that may be lost in the future (it is currently under development).

The Logistics Unit

It is responsible for the procurement, accounting, transportation, and delivery of equipment, materials, software, etc., ensuring their quality check, customs clearance, and timely delivery to recipients (currently under development).

The Financial Unit

It is responsible for overseeing and managing the organisation’s finances. (currently under development).

The Legal Unit

It is responsible for the management of the documentation, ensuring legal compliance within the organisation, representation and legal defence of its interests if necessary (currently under development).

The Administrative Department

It consists of legal, financial and logistics units.

The Department of Communications

It consists of PR, IT and HR units.

The PR Unit

It develops CSF brand, communicates with the audience and partners, manages social media, and manages website content.

The IT Unit

It provides technical support for the website, develops, maintains, and improves software for various CSF units.

The HR Unit

It is responsible for recruiting, training, and onboarding CSF interns, supporting a healthy and productive team environment, and developing corporate culture.

The Wikipedian Unit

It improves the astronomical section of the Ukrainian Wikipedia, focusing its efforts on enhancing the scientific quality of the articles.

The Educational Unit

It prepares students for conducting scientific research and creates various educational materials (methodological guides, videos, etc.).

The Unit of Strategic Wikipedia Growth

It improves the astronomical section of the Ukrainian Wikipedia, focusing its efforts on enhancing the scientific quality of the articles.

The Department of Education

It consists of three units: educational, Wikipedian and the Unit of Strategic Wikipedia Growth.
