TESS-UA-2024
Dear friends!
We invite you to join the scientific research project "TESS-UA-2024", which will give you the opportunity to explore variable stars, exoplanets (and even discover new ones) completely free of charge, in a team of like-minded people, and publish your results.
Your participation in the project will consist of four stages:
Preparation.
Conducting research.
Writing and publishing a scientific article.
Participation in the CATS-2024 conference (optional).
Thanks to our project you will:
Gain new useful knowledge and skills;
Conduct your own real scientific research;
Publish your work in a peer-reviewed scientific journal;
Have the opportunity to participate in a future conference.
Join us today! Fill out the registration form at the link and we look forward to seeing you in our project! There will be a lot of interesting and amazing things ahead...
Research topics
Eclipsing binary stars;
Transiting exoplanets;
Pulsating variable stars (for experienced participants).
Participation сonditions
The project is open to everyone, regardless of age, academic degree, previous experience, financial status, social status, etc. The only criteria are your knowledge, motivation, and the ability to devote enough time to the research.
If you have published scientific research on the topic of variable stars or related topics, no additional preparation is required.
If you have already received a certificate of completion for the previous version of our course, it is still valid and you can also join the research immediately.
In other cases, you will need to take the preparatory course "Variable Stars Lectures", which will provide you with the minimum and sufficient knowledge to conduct the research itself. The topic of your future scientific research is quite specific and is not studied in schools or even in most universities, so it is necessary to acquire the necessary knowledge before starting. Passing score for participation: 60 out of 120.

Project goal and tasks
Goal: To create new opportunities for Ukrainian youth who are interested in astronomy and dream of associating themselves with this science; to lower the barrier to entry into scientific research.
Tasks:
To take into account the experience and problems of previous projects TESS-UA-2022 and TESS-UA-2023A; to make changes to the project program and research methodology.
To prepare the necessary educational materials for future participants, including a lecture course.
To conduct a test study using the updated methods (similar to the studies of the participants of the TESS-UA-2024 project) for the final check and coordination of the mentor team.
